When I saw the dietician earlier this h, one thing she commented on was the lack of fruit in my diet. I don’t like fruit. Give me a plate full of veggies (so long as it’s not Brussels Sprouts—ICK!) and I will eat it all up. But fruit is another story. But I just don’t like fruits. I think it’s the texture that bothers me as I often like fruit flavored things. But I just don’t like to eat fruit.
The dietician told me that I need to get beyond that. She wants me to add in at least one serving of fruit each day. She suggested I do that by mixing fruit into a smoothie or eating yogurt with fruit in it.
So, I decided to try it. I’ve been drinking smoothies for breakfasts this past week. My “normal” smoothie is a cup of milk, ½ cup of fat-free vanilla yogurt, a splash of orange juice, and a cup of pineapple. Not too bad. Today, though, I tried something different. And I have to say it was absolutely delicious!!
I’ve been seeing the commercials for the dessert flavors of Yoplait yogurt and picked up a few of them last week. I used one of them, Triple Berry Torte, in my smoothie. I used 2 ice cubes, ½ cup of blueberries, 1 cup of orange juice, and a 6 oz. container of Triple Berry Torte Light Yoplait yogurt. All of that went into my blender and I mixed it up real good. Oh, it was delicious!
